I need a restaurant that can handle 80-100 people for a sat daytime private function - can anyone recommend a good place?

Re: restaurant recommendations - I am desperate!

pretty much any where on LI queens or the city - close to the highways so it is easy to get to.

I already called Cafe Baci - but they dont close and dont have a private room.

No VFW halls or anything like that - and nothing TOO fancy like a wedding place.

West Lake in Patchogue has a room that would probably accomodate what you need

Re: restaurant recommendations - I am desperate!

Yeah, I hate that about Baci!

How about Joe Abbraciamento on Woodhaven Blvd in Queens. it's very close to the LIE and very easy to acces from the interboro, and SSP.

I had my graduation party there. it was beautiful and the price was good. It's not as fancy as a wedding hall, but if my wedding is that nice, I'll be very happy. NO complaints and the BEST food

Villa Monaco in West Islip has a private room and it is right off of Robert Moses Causeway.

We had our RD at the Bonwit Inn in Commack. They have a few private rooms. It's right off of the Northern State Parkway. Or how about Maine Maid Inn? That's not too far from the LIE and they have a few rooms too. The restaurant part of Milleridge also has private rooms.

I think Diane's in Roslyn can accomodate- although for that many people- you may need to utilize both upstairs and downstairs.

Thom and Thom in Wantagh. The whole upstairs is private. Same owners as Coolfish and Passionfish.

Don't know if it is too **low end** compared to what you are looking for, but Bertucci's has rooms, some places have 2 rooms and different packages.

Just for the record, I love Bertucci's, used to work there, saw many parties, but for some, it is perfect for their parties, for others it isn't enough when it comes to ambiance.

Re: restaurant recommendations - I am desperate!

I was going to recommend Coolfish I was there for dinner and they were having a 1st birthday there.... love there foos and not all fish,,

Thom thom was ok ate there but didn't realize they had a room.... It is right by the wantagh train station

Nick D'angelo's is also good--It is in Merrick on Sunrise Highway..

Cafe Testarossa in Syosset

How about Pomodorino.... There is one in New Hyde Park, and one on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington... I know they do parties, the food is good but they usually let other people eat there when it is going on.... but definately check into it...

Sweetwaters in Hauppauge. I was just there for a funeral lunch and it accomodated about 150 people and the food was great, and it had a really nice bar (that impressed my hubby and his friends), I'm abot the food, they are about the bar ambience.

Johnathon's in New Hyde Park
La Marmite - Williston Park
La Pace - Glen Cove

I've been to parties at all 3 of these places. I highly recommend the food at La Marmite. Not sure how much you want to spend but we've used them for corporate parties and paid about $50 or so per person but that was for a 4 hour party w/appetizers, drinks, sit down meal and dessert.
