Things to do in Maine (in the summer)
We have a timeshare (in Atlantis, Bahamas) that we can transfer.
Since we don't fly (sad, I know ) we were looking on the timeshare website for places to drive to.
Maine seems to be the only thing available in August.
Have you ever been to Maine in the summer, and what do you recommend doing there?
My children are 9 and 6 years old.
Thanks so much!

Yes, where is the time share? There are lots of outdoorsy things to do with kids-beaches, hiking, etc, depending on where you are staying.

Thanks so much, everyone.
The timeshare we can transfer to is in Island Falls. No clue where that is or what's near it.
Thanks so much to all for your feedback!!

Thats all the way North, about 3.5 hours from portland. At least a couple hours from the ocean. I honestly don't know anything about that area. it is pretty isolated. There are a couple lakes there. is the timeshare on a lake? And I think it is pretty close to the border - so you could probably do a day trip to canada.

if it's that far north, check out Campobello National park. it's beautiful. we share it with Canada.
and I also second Bar Harbor and Acadia Ntl park.
gorgeous.
but really Maine is perfect to do NOTHING. hang out at the beach, go clamming, eat lobster and listen to the water lapping on the shore (lake or ocean).
enjoy!!!
