Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
We were discussing this the other day-- as I approach my 6 yr wedding anniversary in a few weeks, I think I maybe used a few dishes ONCE.
I feel like it's a waste.. and I can't see hosting any large family dinners here anytime soon since MIL likes to host and include the world...
I have a beautiful Kate Spade set-- that I mixed and matched accent plates and have corresponding crystal.

4 1/2 years and a divorce later, I returned mine to the Bed Bath and Beyond and got store credit. Amazing what you can get at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Try contacting replacements.com as they both buy and sell china, silver and glassware.

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
thanks-- my china is from fortunoff, so no luck there!
I sorta didn't want to go through the hassle of ebay unless it will all go to one person.

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
I just went through this. I had registered for every type of glass imaginable and 12 of each.i ended up returning 42 glasses to bed bath and beyond and got a 700 store credit. I had registered for the glasses at Fortunoff but bc i never took the sticker off the bottom of the glasses and bbb sells them , they took them. Try it, if not Ebay.

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
I was about to ebay and just said to myself let me give it a try at BB. i called first ( before packing 42 glasses) and they said we have a return policy that as long as we carry it( even if its only online, which was the case with my glasses0 we will accept wit without a receipt. I said someone bought them for me, i can only assume it was at bbb since i found them on your website. I said some have the stickers some don't, she said fine bring them in. i will be honest i was skeptical that they would actually take them. I went Sunday and they really didn't ask for my story.

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
thanks so much-- I will check it out.
I would probably prefer cash, since I can't see needing that kind of credit there, but it's something to look into.
I checked out replacements.com and am going to email them too.

We are buying a house so i could use it, but I could see how you wouldn't need a store credit of that amount.Good Luck

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
Between what I registered for and what I inherited I had 3 sets of china, plus MILs set is stored here. I sold 2 of them to Replacements.com. It was easy, the worst part was packing it all up to ship to them.

It was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly. I want to say about $600? There was a 16 piece set of a no-name set from Japan, and an almost complete Wedgwood set of 8. I probably could have done better on the Wedgwood on ebay, but I didn't want to deal with selling it piece by piece.

Doesn't matter for replacements. Probably gets you more money on ebay.

Just curious as to which accent plates you have. I never got the accent plates I wanted, and I've been having trouble finding them. If they're the right ones, maybe I can help you out a bit!

I have 3 different patterns because I wanted to mix-- but they all correspond and look nice together.
It's been ages-- but I just found my paperwork.
I have the Mc Cormick Sq as placesettings, and then different fruit bowls and accent plates-- so 4 Mc Cormick, 4 Bonnabel and 4 Alabaster Noel.
Bonnabel
Alabaster Noel
ANd my crystal is Kate Spade Bedford Diamond

Re: Has anyone successfully sold their fine china?
I contacted replacements - they offer around $5 a dinner plate...progressively less for smaller things.
I was able to sell back my serving pieces to Fortunoffs before they listed for bankruptcy, so that helped. I might try the BBBY thing now though! Mine have never been used!
