hate unintentionally saying something stupid...

arg...so i was just talking with my neighbor who lives below us in the elevator, she asked how far along i was and said congratulations, etc...she then asked about how we planned on fitting everything into our apt (we live in a one bedroom) because she and her husband were trying to think of how it could work for them...i explained our plan...she liked it...i meant to say then that "its possible for everything to fit" before i said that she said maybe they'll be right behind us which was when my "its possible" came out but without me saying "for everything to fit". Now i feel like an idiot...in my head i was still talking about fitting stuff into the apartment.

am i over thinking this? does she think i told her its possible for her to get pregnant???

I don't think your comment was so bad. And I think you are beating yourself up too much about it.

First she didn't say maybe we will get pregnant.... she said maybe we will be pregnant right behind you... and if you even said "It's possible"... that to me sounds like a positive "it's possible". Not like a nasty one. All in all your tone probably has a lot to do with it. If you said "it's possible" with a nasty connotation or with a nice sweet positive one. Does that make sense?

I know you weren't saying it's possible to her comment at all... but coming from her perspective.. so long as it was said with a nice tone in your voice... i think it's fine and don't beat yourself up over it.

I totally said it with a happy friendly tone. I just polled two of my friends and they said that she might have thought "huh" for a second but then realized that i was still in the other part of the conversation and that i didn't have anything to worry about.

I appreciate the other reassurances from you girls too
