Upgrading appliances

We NEED a new over the range microwave and currently all of our appliances are white and about 8 years old. I would love to upgrade to SS but, we plan on either selling or renting within the next year- year and a half. Should I just replace the micro with white or should I spend the extra $$ and replace the micro and stove both SS. I don't want anything high end since we dont plan on staying in this home. Looks like I can get both for $600.00.

I thinks its a no brainer bc either way it would help the sale or appeal to a renter if the appliances were upgraded right? or should I just save the $$ on the stove and just spend $189 on a new WHITE micro?

I would replace the fridge later on down the line.

I'd do white and bank the rest of the money.....

not all people even LIKE stainless steel (smudges, etc) and honestly, I bought my house with all white appliances and it didn't matter to me at all..if I want stainless steel, I'd buy it myself, KWIM? No sense in you going all out when you don't plan to live there that long.

Re: Upgrading appliances

get the white one.

If I am a renter, I dont care much between SS or white as long as it is clean and working well.

If I am a buyer, and I will be renovating the kitchen within the next 5 years I dont care either as long as it is cleaning and functioning.

Re: Upgrading appliances

white...as a renter i wouldn't care what the appliances were. as a buyer i would prefer that they just all match. i could always do SS if i wanted.
