Re: Iron bannister for porch?

I have two recs. One is coming today to give an estimate. bpiron. I will let you know how that goes. Another poster recommended a place in Freeport which I have to go visit after this one comes.

I will try to bump the thread to get the other name for you.

Not many companies do this. I'm hoping that it's not very expensive.

Re: Iron bannister for porch?

So Brian from Jerry Cardullo Iron Works in Bayshore came down and gave us an estimate.

We need 13ft of railings and we were looking at open channel with castings. No scrollwork.

With installation and galvanization which carries a 10 year warranty for rusting it was $950 installed.

I didn't realize it was so much money. We are going to another:

Valley Ornamental Iron
411 Babylon Tpke, Freeport, NY 11520-1824

(516) 377-6684

they said to come down and see the styles and measure and they will give an estimate. Since I have the measurements now I can go there.

Not many places do this. It's a highly specialized market.

PVC just didn't look right on our house.

Re: Iron bannister for porch?

Thanks!

Duke of Iron in Smithtown does it too.

I agree, no PVC here.
