Need help painting my kitchen (pics)
the color isn't bad. Long story short they did a quick and cheap paint job on everything before putting the house on the market - didn't prime, everything needs a paint job esp. my cabinets.
I am trying to go for a cozy-cottage type them in the house. What colors do you think would work in the kitichen? Should I stay with light colors since the room is so small?
That thing in the pic that looks like tile is tile paneling, so I can definitley paint that also, should I go with a glossy paint?

How about pale blue? My kitchen has white painted cabinets and I was going for a Hamptons/coastal/cottage style look, so I painted a light blue. I think it works (I've gotten compliments on it!).

YES - I love blue - I think I need 2 colors though, one for the wall and one for the tile looking thing and I am afraid of overloading on any one color. I am terrible at knowing what goes together

I like blue, too... or even a nice green, which is great for cottage-y looks.

Love the kitchen! Definitely keep the cabinets white. What about taking down that paneling? Then you could paint one color and put in a nice backsplash. For the look you want, I'd go with a green color...

get out of my brain! lol I was going to suggest a pale green or a pale yellow..
and I would not paint in gloss..

if you hate the fake tile....i once saw on HGTV that they put bead board/wainscotting over it with some liquid nails and finishing nails, then put moulding along the top and it looked great! Would go really well with your cottage theme.
As for a color, maybe a french blue?

BLue! Two colors of blue, no doubt. i'd do a light on top a little darker on bottom.
ETA: wainscotting idea is fantastic! but, would it be too much white with the white cabinets?
