manhasset vs. plandome -- is it that big of a difference?
hello ladies, i'm crashing from the TTC forum and had a quick question. dh is debating on whether to get a parking permit for manhasset which is closer to penn station vs. using the plandome station which is 1 station further but seems to require no parking permit. how is the time difference and parking situation for anyone who uses the 2 stations?

I don't have much advice, but if I'm thinking of the correct station for plandome I believe the station is smaller and in a residential area...maybe you could drive by and check it out?

I would go to whatever station you live closer too. The Manhasset station is MUCH bigger than plandome but, I believe that only residents of certain areas of Manhasset can park in the plandome station.

When I lived there, you had to be a resident of Plandome to park at that station. I can't see why that would change.

thx for the advice! i was reading another post that said you didn't have to be a resident. maybe they're wrong or there are more non-resident parking spots there than manhasset? we better go check it out soon....

Do you live in Manhasset? If you do you are zoned for one train station or the other - not both. You must be a resident of Manhasset to get the permit for the Manhasset station or a resident of Plandome to get a permit for the Plandome station. The manhasset train station fills up by 9am. The plandome station doesn't usually fill up but it is very small. If you want to park as a guest at Manhasset it is $6 a day, first come first served and it fills up by about 6am. There are no guest spots in the Plandome lot.
