Question for Gardeners

For those of you who plant from seeds - where do you get your seeds from, what do you grow and when do you start?

Re: Question for Gardeners

I'd love to know, as well!

I see certain seed brands for veggies and such and I'm always worried - what if they are the cheapo kind and don't sprout, etc. I'm intimidated by all the options out there.

Can anyone shed some light and brands they use?

Re: Question for Gardeners

Although I consider myself to be a pretty knowledgeable gardener, I am just not ambitious enough for seed starting!

I buy seedlings from BluestonePerennials.com during their spring sale. You can also check out Dave's Garden watchdog to see who the good sellers are. Chat Icon

Re: Question for Gardeners

Memorial Day weekend. Especially for fast growing plants, it makes a lot of financial sense. They're all perennials, so they tend to be pricier than annuals but with the sale, it's reasonable. They come in small pots or cellpacks.

Re: Question for Gardeners

Seeds: I buy the "main" brands. You can find them at HD, Walmart, etc..

Seedlings/plants: I buy from a reputable nursery.
