Long story short, I am scraping the "stucco" off my hallway wall myself. I have a tool that does the job, ok. I know in the end it still may not be perfectly flat and smooth.

Any ideas on paint that works well (or colors too) on imperfect walls that can make it look like we are adding character rather than painting over a problem. The current plaster texture is way too pointy and my DD got scratched from it. I tested it for lead paint, no asbestos so we are good to scrape. I would just take the walls down professionally but it's such a low priority at this point. One day we will remove the walls and have it professionally done and painted but I have a 100 page list of other things taking higher priority. I thought about Ralph Lauren's river rock, but not sure. I'm going with light tans/browns for the most part.

In regard to the chair rail, we have it in the dining room. Is it best to put the same color above and below or use a darker color on the botom. I plan on getting chocolate brown slip covers for my chairs, the table (not sure how to describe) is like a laminated wood, light in color.
