Spinoff to charon54's 2009 post that was just bumped: hospital photogs
Made me think.........
The day after ds was born, my nurse came to me with pictures of him and asked I wanted to purchase them. I do not recall anyone ever asking me if it was ok to take pics of him. Who are these people taking pics and don't we have the right to tell them no? I'm assuming that the photogs are not allowed to touch them, but it still bothers me that a stranger is up close to them without my permission.
Am I being silly and just not remembering something correctly?

Nobody asked me either.
I just received a packet in the mail with his hospital pic. And it was terrible. I sent them back.

My hospital has it on their website that they will take a picture, and I think I got info about it to in the packet they sent me. Plus my Lamaze teacher, who is a maternity nurse at the hospital mentioned it.
I know that my 'official' baby picture was taken at the hospital when I was born, so this practice is at least 28 years old

With DD they came around when the baby was with me. They took the pictures in front of me and gave me the options of which of the I wanted to keep.

When we had DD, the nurses took the pic of her and then we got a packet in the mail if we wanted to order. There was no pressure and we were allowed regardless to keep one.
I actually just got a call the other day from the "photographers"(thats what it came up as on caller id) asking me if I just had my baby, which I haven't yet, and I told them I didn't and they said they would call back at the end of the month. PIA to bug me already, but It is the hospital that they go through, so I am not too worried.
