adventures in l&d and preterm labor
About 11pm last night the gefilte fish jelly discharge had a light brownish-pinkish tint and I was peeing about every 10 mins and having dull menstrual like cramps. I called my dr and she told me to go to the hospital. In the car the cramps turned into contractions.
I was 3 cm dialated and in preterm labor. Since I'm only 35 wks they didn't want me to deliver so they gave me meds to stop the contractions- they had to give me the max dose but it worked. I was able to sleep for 2 hours.
They released me early this morning and I'm under strict orders to rest this week so I don't have the baby until the earliest next week at 36 weeks when I'll be full term.
I have a follow up appt fri w my ob.
Fyi: internals are very uncomfy! I had 3 of them.
I'm ok and baby is ok.

wow glad you are okay! ( I did giggle/shudder at your gefilte fish description)
rest up and stay healthy - you can totally last another week and soon your LO will be here!

Wow, I really never would have guessed from your post yesterday that you were in preterm labor! More of a reason I usually say on my posts that I'm not a doctor, haha. Glad everything is ok!

I feel your pain! I was in the exact same position last week!
Spent a night at Mercy. I went back to the dr again yesterday at 36 weeks and they are keeping me on meds and bedrest for another week so I will reach 37 weeks. At that point they will take me off the meds and we will see what happens 
I am excited that LO might come earlier but also thinking that just my luck, now he will decide to come late lol!

I had this with my last pregnancy.
Did they give you any meds to go home with or just the terbutaline in the hospital?

The hospital didn't send me home w meds. But we just left the ob's office and the dr gave me a scrip for oral meds to stop the contractions.

oh wow! I guess I really have to start calling the doctor next time i start feeling cramps- so glad they were able to control your contractions and hopefully you can wait it out until full term!!!

Thanks ladies.
I took the 1st dose of the med at 3:30. It has slowed down the frequency and intensity of the contractions. I've been mostly napping since then.

Oh my goodness!! Glad they were able to stop the contractions and that your dr was able to give you meds to slow them down today. Take it easy....baby stay in there!!
