How much is the out of pocket expense when you have a baby? What do we have to pay for? Is there a co-pay every time you go to the doctor?

Re: NYC teachers
I never pay a copay there. I get billed after the fact from any lab that my bloodwork is sent to or wherever the sonos are done from. Dr bill is consistently $2 and bloodwork and sonos range from $4-$12.

Re: NYC teachers
I always paid/pay for sonos and urine cultures (sonos $15, urine $2) I don't know about when you actually go to the hospital, though

Re: NYC teachers
I pay co-pays everytime I go to the doc $15 plus at least 1-2 co-pays come in the mail per visit $15 each for whatever sonos or tests they do. The one time I went to the hosp I got a $50 co-pay.

Re: NYC teachers
It all depends on what insurance you have. I have GHI and I don't pay any co-pays for the visits, but I get billed from the lab for any bloodwork done and from the radiology place whenever sonos are done (always $15 each)
As far as the hospital copay, I'm not 100% on what the co-pay is, I'm pretty sure it's about $250.

Re: NYC teachers
No copay for prenatal visits with GHI. $15 copay for sonos and for bloodwork done at Quest. I'm pretty sure the hospital copay will be $300. I have GHI and Empire BCBS.

Re: NYC teachers
I only had co-pays for sonos and lab work. When DD was born, my hospital stay cost 300.
