Does anyone else have horrific dry itchy skin? Both my drs say its normal but it's discoloring my skin and it itches so bad!!!
Can anyone recommend a lotion they use?

Re: dry skin
My skin has been so dry. I just started using Vaseline coco butter body oil gel after I shower. I put it on while I'm still in the shower. Then the Vaseline coco butter lotion after I dry off a bit.

Re: dry skin
I should warn you it has a very distinct smell. I think it smells like a Somoa (the GS cookie) and since I have started using it it's all I can think about, haha. My husband says it smells like beach/summer.

Mmmmmm... Samoas..... lol. I'll have to try that for my dry skin, too. Thanks!
On a relative note, before I got pregnant, I had "Itchy Ears". Like... ridiculous itchy ears that I wish I could take a wire hanger to scratch allllllll the way inside my ears. I think it was technically exczema in my ears. And the worst is that I had to stop using the prescription ear drops I previously had used because it's not safe for first trimester pregnancy. I had to replace it with just peroxide, which as long as I use it everyday, tends to curb it before it starts. That probably doesn't help, but maybe if you have patchy areas, you can try that. I'm hoping I can go back to the drops in my second trimester!!
I don't know if cortizone is off limits for the whole pregnancy or just the first trimester, but they also make Cortizone 10 especially for Exczema, which helped on my legs before I got pregnant.

My legs are usually itchy in the winter due to my eczema (sp?) but I had a bout of hives about 6 weeks ago and since then my inner elbows, the back of my knees and the tops of my feet are all spotchy and itchy...of course they were also the worst with hives

Re: dry skin
My skin has been sooo dry and itchy I can't deal with it! I do have eczema so I'm used to having itchy dry patches but my legs have NEVER been this bad. They are even bleeding in some spots...agghhh it's the worst. I think I'm going to call my dermatologist on Monday and see what she advises me to do!

Re: dry skin
I bought Palmers Coco Butter and applied it several times a day. Aloe (like the kind you put on sunburns) helped too. This DOES go away!!

Re: dry skin
I put BioOil on my legs (which is where I've been having the dry skin) when I get out of the shower. It hasn't done jack for my stretchmarks, but it keeps the burning sensation off my legs.

Re: dry skin
I have had dry skin on my face during this PG, and I am also very sensitive to most moisturizers. The only one that has worked for me (and has been fantastic!) is Clinique Moisture Surge..it's AMAZING!
