My water-loving DD is scared of taking a bath suddenly...
I don't know what happened. She used to LOVE taking a bath and splashin around in the water and DH said this weekend when he gave her a bath as soon as she got wet she screamed to get out and i just brought her into the bathroom and as soon as she saw me filling her tub she screamed and wanted me to pick her up....i don't know what happened...maybe it's the cold but she won't take a bath for anything now....
Im going to Target today, i was thinking of maybe getting some new bath toys for her to help entice her into the tub....maybe that might help....i don't know what to do...

Re: My water-loving DD is scared of taking a bath suddenly...
DD went/is going through this...it was like a week or 2 of me throwing her in the tub fighting with her and basically i might as well have jumped in with her. which i honestly did a few times to get her to stay in the bath! she is now going through a stage of NOTHING can be in the bath no toys, no cups, no soap, nothing. it all has to be in its spots where it is stored. her baths last about 5min now just enough to get her in hair washed body washed and out. i have tried new toys (which are no longer allowed in the tub per her!) bubbles, coloured water. i have no clue what happened but she is anti bath time now.

AJ did this
But she was playing one day and got a face full of water she didn't go head under water, but it got up her nose and she freaked.
It was a good solid two months before she got over that drama. Toys, bubbles, NOTHING help. Just sort of had to do it.

DS went through this stage too. I think thats when I introduced bubble baths and then it was fine. Kids get into weird moods and then they pass. The new toys idea is great!

Genevieve went thru the same thing at around that age. I dont remember how long it lasted...
Definitely try new bath toys.
Does anyone else bathe her? My m-i-l used to watch DD for us and I thought maybe something happened during a bath to scare her, but nothing did. There was no reason for how she was acting. She just decided she did not like the bath anymore!

DS went through the same thing. He screams and fights it. Bath time has become a mission for me.

My DS went through this stage out of no-where (I forget how old he was).... Fortunately he outgrew it quickly but we still don't know what caused it...
We just stood strong on that he needed a bath and did it as pleasently and as quickly as we could...Maybe you can ask her to help you fill the tub (or add the bubbles etc..)

Re: My water-loving DD is scared of taking a bath suddenly...
DS does thiss sometimes. If he takes a bath somewhere else he's not happy so we do it quick then when we get home in his own bath he won't go in. It takes time and he goes back to loving the bath. He goes through toy stages too. Sometimes no toys and sometimes cups. He HATES any toy boats or anything. He also won't go in if there's bubbles so it always has to be calm and clear LOL

same thing for us right before DD turned 2. she thought she saw a bug and wouldn't set foot in the tub (literally). the ONLY thing that worked to get her back in was buying the bathtub crazyons. she loves them and we haven't had a problem since. i also put a ton of bubbles in so she couldn't see if there were any bugs. i

DS still loves it. He "helps" but putting his toys in the tub himself. Not sure if that would help
