getting rid of clothes

I'm cleaning out my closet..I have 3 nice pairs of jeans, shirts, pajamas, workout tops. Everything is in good condition so I hate to throw it out. Does anyone know a woman or girl in need of clothes (jeans are sizes 3/5 and shirts are XS and S)? Or does anyone know a good place to donate to.

Thanks!

Re: getting rid of clothes

I am going through clothing, and donating to the Nursing Home where my Mom is a resident. Not all the residents have nice things to wear; It broke my heart to see one precious little lady, wearing a hospital gown, instead of a pretty nightgown. I'm going to inquire about it, as to whether she's wearing a hospital gown for reasons I'm unaware of, or because she doesn't have anything. I've grown to love this precious lady. She's usually babbling, and reaches her hand out which I take, and chat with her a bit. Recently, she almost made me cry, by taking my hand, and caressing it to her face, as if to say she appreciates that I care about her. Mary

I don't know where you live, but I work for an agency in Patchogue that has a "clothes closet" for needy people. If you're anywhere near there, FM me and I can give you the information. We're always looking for clothes for any age!

I've donated to Saint Mary's in the past. You call them and they come to your house and pick the clothes up (you leave them in bags on your stoop with a label saying "Saint Mary's.) The only number that I can find is this one though: 718-529-7825

If that's only for Queens, I'm sure they could connect you to Nassau though. Chat Icon

I usually just drop off old clothes in the drop boxes around town.

I donate my used clothing to the United Veterans Beacon House - they pick up from your home in about a day after you call them. Never had a problem and they left a receipt for tax purposes.

Yep, I'm doing a drop off soon so if we can meet up I'd be willing to take the items to the family Chat Icon

Re: getting rid of clothes

Heather I would be more than happy to donate my clothes. I live in East Meadow- that might be kind of far from you. I am not doing anything today and could meet up a little closer to the Nassau/Suffolk border Chat Icon
