Pediatric Healthcare of LI Moms: TWO docs resigned!
DD has her one month check-up tomorrow. I went to check my cell phone messages, which I haven't done in days... and a receptionist from the ped's office called to let me know that I have to reschedule her appt. b/c Dr. Goldberg is no longer with them. I asked to see Dr. Goldstein, and was told that HE left too!! I'm upset - I really liked both of those docs. DD's appt is with someone I don't know (and who isn't one of the regular docs; I didn't recognize the name).
Anyone know what happened?

That is really interesting. I used to use that practice and I love Dr. Goldstein, but I left because I thought the office was really poorly run. They did not keep track of their immunizations well- I actually had to call the office manager at least a week ahead of any visit to ensure my son would have his vaccination. I also hated that the "nurses" or whoever the young girls were gave my son the shots-- they tried to give the wrong shot once to my friends DS. Also, the Drs always disagreed on issues. Dr. Green said to put sunscreen on my newborn everyday (even after he had a reaction) Dr. Goldstein said wait 6 months! I always said that I would love to see Dr. Goldstein, but at a different practice. I hope he goes off on his own so I could go back to him. He is very kind and patiend.

DS was supposed to have 8 mos check-up today and they called me last week to tell me that Goldberg resigned. She was my favorite...I'm going to see if they have info on where she went, but Lanzillotta is very good as well. I saw Schlussleberg (sp?) 2x and he was nice too. I'm seeing the new woman on Wednesday, so I'll let you know. They said there are 2 new drs now, a male and female.
As for Goldstein, I didn't think they were "allowed" to stay in just one office, b/c Lanzillotta had mentioned she would prefer to be just in Bellmore b/c its closer to her house.
I don't really have any complaints on how the office is run. I rarely wait, but can't say I never have...
Let me know if anyone hears anything.

Lanzillotta is really nice; she's the reason I'll probably stay with the office. She and Goldberg are my BFing gurus. I'd drive to Woodmere for Goldstein though - we really liked him.

I was feeling the same way about the office for a while. IDK when you left - but things are definitely different now.
DD's shot's this past september were given by the dr. DS's check up's so far have all been inputted on a laptop Dr. Lanzillotta brings into the room. She even put in the lot number of the vaccination & what leg she put it in. His height and weight information was put in the computer as well, and she showed me that it automatically plots his BMI (weight for height) on a growth curve chart.
I don't really care for Dr. Green. He's very "cold" IMO. I LOVE Dr. Lanzillotta and Dr. Saunders is good too. DD likes her a lot.
the only complaint I have about them is the billing. DD's insurance is a PPO plan. So we don't pay a co-pay we have a deductible. I'm still waiting for bills from February telling me how much I owe them. When I was in there for DS's appt I asked the girl and she looked it up and said there was no balance. so something got screwed up somewhere and it's in my favor !!
As for where the dr's went, IDK. I did see 2 new faces in the office last week with DS, but I didn't give it a 2nd thought. Wonder what happened....

I was there on Wednesday for a well visit. Maureen said that Dr. Goldberg left very suddenly/unexpectedly. She thinks she went somewhere in Oceanside, where she formerly worked, but didn't know exactly where. Dr. Goldstein was primarily in Woodmere, but is now apparently taking a "break" and is reportedly not going anywhere else (right now). Dr. Aranda was awesome though!! She spent a lot of time with us, but she isn't that busy yet. I hear Dr. Lee is also very nice. Still a strange situation...

Dr. Goldberg actually left Pediatric Healthcare of LI to cover a private practice in Stony Brook New York for a ped that is out on medical leave. Ironically this is my children's ped and I am so happy that you all have such great things to say about Dr. Goldberg. I am so sorry that she left the practice so suddenly but I am glad that my ped found a very good doctor to cover him.

Thank you for the information. It is a shame that Dr. Goldstein left the practice because he was such a great doctor - very patient, very knowledgeable and very good with children.

They told me that Goldstein did not leave to go somewhere else and he was taking a break for now...Could be tru b/c they did say that Goldberg went somewhere else, but they didn't know where.
