Mom's who have had an infant with a cold...pls come in!
my 3 month old son has a bad cold....very stuffy nose and bad coughing. took him to the doc yesterday. she said to use a cool mist humidifier, elevate the head of his mattress, give him 1/2 teaspoon of childrens benadryl at night and to constantly suction his nose
do any of you ladies have any other ideas? any safe home remedies you have used in the past? i feel so bad for him, he only wants me to hold him and is very lethargic. i finally got a smile out of him today

steam up the bathroom and sit in there for a bit. DS has been sick for a week I feel your pain.

Yeah, I would say the same thing about the bathroom. It definitely helps! DS was sick twice, when he was really little about 3 months and again last week Its so sad when they arent feeling well!

Taking them in to the shower with me always works the best at clearing them up. I did this multiple times a day before naps and bedtime. I do hot water (obviously not where they get burned, but a nice warm shower) and let the water run over their bodies, and heads and faces. You will automatcially see the mucus cleaning out.

My granddaughter is 5 1/2 wks old. She's got a little stuffy nose. Ped said to sit in the bathroom with hot water on to steam it up. Also said she can use Little Noses saline. Hoping it doesnt get any worse. No fun when babies are sick!!

saline his nose, humidifier (or even better, steam up the bathroom and sit in there with him for 15 minutes), suction his nose as often as he lets you (it's a scream-fest with my son, but it helps soo much), elevate his mattress, make sure he drinks fluids and if he's really uncomfy, give him a little tylenol.
Oh yeah, most importantly LOTS of hugs and kisses! hope he feels better!

Dealing with this now. Steam up the bathroom, saline, cool mist humidifier were all suggested by the ped.
