I always ask these stupid questions...when your child has a cold..

and you have a 1st birthday party to go to...

do you skip it? Riley has had this cold for WEEKS and it never goes away. It almost seems like it's getting worse. And to make matters worse, I'm coming down with it too (at least I think I am! Got the whole post nasal thing going on).

I would feel horrible backing out like this...especially when so many people replied no to the party (at least in our circle of friends) because of the holidays. My friend's child is not in daycare so she's not really exposed to this crap.

It depends, Chels' colds sometimes linger and she'll have a runny nose (like now) for a while after I know she's better...if you think it's gettign worse, I would not take her, if you think it's something lingering then I def would...I think you not taking her bc she's sick would be appreciated!!!!

Based on the fact that it is getting worst and you are getting "sick" yourself, no I would not go.

If it's a friend and they know how you are, I would talk to them.

My middle DD always has some kind of runny nose and almost always has croup. It's not contagious, just sounds really horrible. For the most part I let people know what she has and they usually have no problem with it. We've also never gotten anyone else's child sick this way.

Trust your instincts. If you think she's getting worse and you caught it from her. i'd probably stay home. If you think she's getting over it and better, i would talk to your friend and see her opinion.
