Direct Buy

Dh and I are in contact right now on a house that needs work. Wondering if we should consider a membership to direct buy...anyone have one? Any feedback would be great!

its a scam you will pay a big membership fee you have to pick everything up yourself and if you do a little shopping around you will realize very QUICKLY that you can get better products and BETTER prices

don't waste your time or $

most of your shopping will be from a catalog and then when its in they call you. you go and pick it up (no delivery) and you have to take it out of the large shipping crates.

They tell you certain lines are middle or high end when they actually aren't. most times they are low to mid range and their prices are well over what you would pay for mid-to high end prices but they tell you it sells for much more elsewhere.

if you do a google search of direct buy you will find out its not worth the $ and its all a scam

I don't think it's a scam.

My mom and step-dad have been members for a long time and they have saved tons by using them. I believe they became members when the membership fee was much less though. They did a lot of reno themselves and it really helped. As long as you do your research on prices, you can get great deals.

They do deliver, and set everything up for you. I got my bedroom set and dining room set from them and they came, took everything out, set it up completely, and removed all the garbage

We looked into it somewhat when we moved - someone who works with DH almost convinced him to join. They did a total renovation of their house and got EVERYTHING there - cabinets, etc) so they definitely got their moneys worth...

I asked some friends and asked on here and didn't hear anything good about it at all. Since we were unsure and moving slowly, we decided against it.
