it's like beating a dead horse!!! (food related)
I CANNOT for the life of me, get aaron to like fruits. He doesn't like it whatsoever. It's to sweet for him. He smacks the fork away, spits it all over, and makes a huge mess!
now do I force? Any way to make it bland? I added oatmeal and rice cereal already, didn't work. He loves his veggies. I can feed that to him allll day. Is it really important he gets fruit? WWYD? He's 5 months. Started this cause doc recc it.

sorry to ask another question....would you introduce it once a week? If he doesn't go for it, try it the next week?

Re: it's like beating a dead horse!!! (food related)
I think its not really taste but texture, what veggie he like the most?
Take that veggie and mix a little of the fruit in it like 3:1, see if he takes that, if it works, offer for about a week with different things.
If that works, try mixing it 2:2, then again a week.
Then try to give him taste of the fruit by itself.
DS just hated the texture of some veggies and some fruits, it took some of this manipulation to get hum used to textures. Now he's a pro.
If a texture is really bothering him, like avacado, I used yogurt or sour cream, anything smothered in yogurt or sour cream is his favorite food. Then I gradually take away the yogurt and he adjusts to the new texture.
I don't know why it bothered him so much, you'd think avacado is creamy too.

Never thought of it. He likes sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and peas.
I've tried the applesause, pears, bananas...no luck.
I could try mixing a little in, but I have a feelings the sec it's sweet, he will spit it out. He makes that sour face with every spoon full.

maybe try mashing up a whole banana and give him that if you are giving him jarred fruit. it tastes different.
but otherwise I wouldn't worry to much. he may just not have much of a sweet "tooth" yet.
