Maternity/Newborn Photos - Question about Pricing
DH and I have narrowed down our selection for maternity/newborn photos to Summer Lyn and September Blue. I saw on the websites that both have the basic fee for just the time of the photographer. I’m confused when it comes to the whole “a la carte” for prints and the minimums and whatnot. Has anyone used either of these photographers or booked with them and if so, would you mind sharing with me what it cost and what your “package” included? Do you get a digital disc of all of your prints? If you would rather not publicize what you paid, please feel free to fm me. Also, do you know if either of these photographers typically give a discount when you use them for both maternity and newborn pics?
Any info you can share is greatly appreciated. Next week marks the end of my first trimester and I wanted to wait until that point before booking, but I know how far in advance these people book, so I am just trying to get prepared to make the final decision.
TIA

Re: Maternity/Newborn Photos - Question about Pricing
Both of them give you the session for a price -- and if you want prints you pay extra for those. The "A la carte" pricing is where you are paying for whatever images you print.
You usually do not get any photo release rights to pics unless you pay for them, and it can add up.
I know that in order to get ALL the images unwatermarked, with a photo release and proof book, I believe September Blue is roughly $1000-1200.
Summer Lyn is somewhere near that amount for the rights to all your images as well.

Re: Maternity/Newborn Photos - Question about Pricing
I'm using September blue. There is a session fee of $250 and then she offers a couple of different packages. Depending on the package it can easily run you around $1000-1200. I got a maternity session included so you save booking both a maternity and newborn session. Summer Lyn was more expensive and really out of my price range. HTH

Re: Maternity/Newborn Photos - Question about Pricing
Thanks for the responses.
Both have a 300-400 dollar minimum on the a la carte prints. Does anyone have any idea how many prints on average that gets you?
