Kinda gross but if your child holds their poop

What do you do to make them go to the bathroom? This isn't a potty training issue she is 3 and has been potty trained for over a year. She was put on strong anitbiotics that messed with her system and she became constipated. She went one time and it hurt so bad that she refuses to go. I have tried miralax, suppositories and she holds it. I don't know how but she does and from time to time she screams in pain. How do I make her snap out of this?

Miralax... once my son was going regularly,and there was no pain, it was OK. GL.

Honestly...if you think she holds it, I would get an appt with a pediatric gastroenterologist. Just because it's very hard to fix the problem many times. I have a withholder and it's still an ongoing problem with normal bathroom habits. I've heard of many kids with this problem so it's not unusual but it can continue and it becomes a really hard habit to break. a ped gastro can get you on the right track. It's worth it, trust me from experience.
