Girls who dye their own hair....
I am going to dye my own hair tonight for the first time and am not really nervous about it at all, just looking for a recommendation on a brand of hair dye. I don't want to take Sarah Jessica Parker's word for it and assume that Garnier Nutrisse is the way to go...lol....any suggestions??

i just used Garnier Nutrisse its fine and fieria. Main thing is to make sure no product is on your hair and it hasn't been washed in a day or two. I find my hair doesn't get killed if i resist washing it for two days.

Re: Girls who dye their own hair....
Go to Sally Beauty and get the Ion Brand. People always think store brands are way cheaper compared to others but the brands at Sally are professional and really arent expensive. Maybe $10 total w/the color and developer... and they cover much better. Just ask for help to see what level developer you will need.
ETA: Ion is also way better for your hair, doesnt smell bad and you can even get it for sensitive scalp and they DONT test on animals (the best part!)

Honestly, I home color about every 6 weeks and I just bounce around brands based on whats on sale. Ive probably used just about all of them, and they have all been fine. I tend to like the L'Oreals the best.

Ditto! Loreal is my fav. right now. The new creme color gloss is great! The only other one I use is Natural instincts. They are both non permanent rinses. Fades in 28 washes.

Re: Girls who dye their own hair....
I use the garnier now because it's semi-permanent (28 shampoo one - not sure if its the nutrisse) I love it because if I don't get to touch up as often roots are not as noticeable.
In the past I always used feria and was very satisfied with it also...
