Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
I just went through all of the clothes that I've received up until this point. I've washed all the blankies, bibs, and NB/0-3M onesies and clothes. I have a ton of clothes that are 3-6M and 6-9M, though and I don't know what to do with them. A lot of them are pants/long sleeve outfits since that's all stores are really selling right now. My little guy will be 6-9M in the summer months and clearly will not be wearing fleece pjs. Do I return these clothes? Some have Carter's and Kohl's tags on them, but it's hard to tell where some of the others are from. What do I do? What are you girls doing with the 3+M clothes that you received?

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
You can try to return them. I'm not sure about their policy or hold on to them for possibly the next baby.
It's kind of foolish for people to buy stuff and not think about how big the baby will be when it will be x-amount of months. I always think of this.

People did this with us, too. While I appreciate the thought, some of the clothes that were purchased for us just weren't practical. I'm returning what I can, and I'll hold onto the store credit until spring clothes come out and/or we have an idea of what size the baby will be over the summer.

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
I kept a bunch of the bigger stuff b/c I hear alot of sizes aren't really true sizes. Like my friends little boy is 4 months and wearing 6 months...I just haven't washed them. And am waiting to see how big my baby is. I hear that even newborn/3 months get small VERY fast. So I wanted to be prepared..

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
You will probably need the bigger sizes sooner than you think. DS wore 3-6 months by 8 weeks and was in 18 months by one year. Don't cut the tags or wash them yet.

When buying a gift, I always try to think of the baby's age and season, too! Don't get me wrong... I'm grateful for the gifts we got, but it just makes no sense.
I will try to return some, even if I get store credit, that's fine by me!

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
DS was born in December and is pretty much true to size.
We got some cooler weather items in 6-9 months and actually got some use out of them in September when it started to get cool.
You probably won't need fleece jammies but, I'd keep a couple of outfits in case it gets cool.

Very true! Maybe I should hold off on returning? I just don't want to walk into Carter's in the warmer months with fleece/winter clothes and get when I try to return them.

Oops too late!!! I washed the NB and 0-3M clothes only to get a head start. I don't want to be washing clothes when I get home with the baby.

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
I'd hold off returning clothes unless you don't like the styles.
Ultimately you always have new clothes that you don't use, whether you wash them or have tags on them. I have 2 bags of unworn clothes. Most are items that MIL bought for DS in wrong seasons, styles I don't like and stores I can't seem to return to in NY. DH would rather just keep them vs asking MIL for the receipt.

Re: Question about washing/returning baby clothes.
you never know what you're kid will wear when...DD1 was a pixie and fit each size for the end of the age range. at 2 1/2 she still has an 18 month waist but needs 24m/2T for length. DD2 is a moose. She is 5 months old and wearing 6-9m or 6-12m clothing.
