Wintuk

I want to mix it up this holiday season and NOT bring my kids back to see the Christmas Spectacular AGAIN (since they do the same exact show every year).

Has anyone brought their kids to see Wintuk or have you seen it?

Did you like it?

Know where I can get discounted tickets?

TIA! Chat Icon

We're looking at it too. I've heard it's great but haven't gone.

I spoke to the guy at the box office (I'm right upstairs from it). He said the discounts are usually on the mid-level prices only. In other words that $40 ticket is about as low as it goes - but children do get 30% off.

Again, it's right downstairs so if you do want me to pick them up for you, I can. At least this way you avoid the surcharges, etc.

we have tickets for December, looks like a great show!

(we were actually supposed to go last december but I was pregnant and there was a HUGE storm the night of the show so we didnt chance it by going into the city)

Barbara...thanks so much. I'll talk to the DH and see when we can go (when he can get off from work) and what seats we'd want...then I might ask if you could pick them up for us. That is so kind of you to offer! Thanks so much and I'll keep you posted!!! Re: Wintuk

i saw it, but it's definately a show for kids. not too exciting for adults, especially if you have seen a regular cirque du soleil show.

I agree with this. Also, how old are the kids? At a certain age even they might not be too excited by it.

Re: Wintuk

My kids are 8.5 and 5. I think they'd like it since they have really only seen one other Broadway show (Christmas Spectacular- twice). And they did love it.
I'm not thrilled with the Cirque du Soleil stuff...but eh...I'll see it for the kids. Chat Icon

We saw it last year and didn't like it. We're going to do Radio City this year instead.

Re: Wintuk

I've heard it's great and I'm bringing my Goddaughter this year, last year we did Christmas Spectacular. But she's 16 so she may enjoy Wintuk more than younger children.

Elf is playing this year. The previews started yesterday. I'm going on Sat to see it. Its playing for 9 weeks. That might be another option that your kids might enjoy.

Ive seen three cirque du soleil shows. while not as spectacular as the others, this one didn't really bore me at all. I had a GREAT time! I would definately take AJ if I was around NY or if it was visiting. We have a cirque show here but really can't put it in my budget though I'm thinking of catching the Christmas spectacular next year in Austin.

Re: Wintuk

Last year my grandma took my 9 yo cousin (boy) and they did not like it. They also said it was literally 100 degrees in there.

They thought it would be a nice change from the yearly broadway play, but I guess it wasn't.

Re: Wintuk

We saw it about 3 yrs. ago and is $uuuucked!!!! We went with about 12 people and EVERYONE hated it. It was sooooo boring. I've seen other Cirque du Solei's that were just outrageous and amazing and mind blowing but this show..............it really was not worth the money. I personally wouldn't recommend it. I know some people like it but I was not a fan at all.
