Got a closing date !!!
Soooo happy my nagging Bethpage FCU got us cleared to close - and FINALLY a closing date !!
Walk through is at 10am on Wednesday and the closing will be at 3pm !! (with a 1pm growth ultrasound inbetween for our  due 12/2 !!!) It's going to be a fun filled eventful day!
We aren't going to actually take possession of the property until Friday afternoon though  which I am not happy about, but they have to put money in escrow and pay our interest on the mortgage for those few days - so *just incase* something is wrong on Friday, or they leave junk behind that we have to deal with - the $$'s in escrow for us to put a lien against. (at least that's how it was explained to me)
So now I have to call LIPA and the water district and schedule them to come on Saturday - what a way for me to spend my day !!
Please  that everything goes smoothly for us !!

What a relief! Congratulations to you. You can finally normalize your life once you sign your name about 1000x at closing and have those keys in your hands. Cheers to a speedy closing!

yay, congrats and good luck! we're still waiting for final word from BFCU on our date... but i'm glad to see yours got scheduled for so soon, we want to close a week from tomorrow.

Congratulations! 
We also didn't take possession immediately after closing. Just do a walk through immediately when you take possession and tell your lawyer about any issues ASAP.

Bearcat - I had to email the girl we were dealing wtih almost every freaking HOUR until I started getting answers from her. then, some of the answers didn't make sense, and when I was just about to ask to have her supervisor contact me, we were miracously cleared to close !! I had to really be a b!tch and nag her & if I didn't we'd probably still be waiting !!!
