Two Mini House Projects... update with 1 more.
We are still getting settled in, but wanted to share two little things I have done in the house.
Wall baskets-- got this idea from the board!! I still think we need more stuff up there, but I think we'll have to pick things up when we find them....
And my ugly bathroom makeover... This bathroom is in the family room/aka basement. Its outdated in an early 80's kind of way... and eventually I would love to gut it, but we just can't right now... The before pics do not show how freakin' ugly it was... but, it's actually not so bad right now.
BEFORE
I hung a curtain over the ugly little shower door, got an open frame and attached it to the beat up wall of mirror, and added a few accessories to detract from ugliness.
Also finally cleaned off the counter to take a pic... here is my open cabinet. We painted the interior of the shelves the same color as the sunroom, which is just to the left of this, and the shelves white.. In addiiton to updating the trim, etc.

i like the baskets on the wall - where did you get them?
west elm has them in sets, but I wanted to find ones that were more of a hodge podge... got them at Home Goods, Pottery Barn and Pier 1. Some are baskets, and some are wicker chargers so there is a difference in depth and texture on the wall.

The baskets look great! Very cool idea. I think you need to find 2 more small ones for the bottom left and top right corners.
I love what you did with that cut out, i'm still thinking of ideas for what to do with ours in our DR and I love the tile behind the shelves!

yeah, I have a couple others, but it was starting to look too symmetrical, so I figured I would just add to it when I find ones that I think would work.
The tile was there, but the inside was just ugly finished wood... adding the paint encloses the space and ties it all together. The kitchen is a nice size, but not crazy big-- so using this as stoage works out great..
