cio at 4 months

is 4 months too young to cry it out at night? It takes so long for her to get rocked to sleep. Then if she wakes up an hour later it starts all over again.

So if i let her be is it bad?

I tend to feel that 4 months is too young for CIO, but I know people that disagree.

If you know DD is fed and clean and just wants company, letting her cry for a little while wouldn't hurt.

I waited until 6 months to CIO. At that point, she was not being comforted by rocking or nursing.

Most of what I've heard recommended is to wait until 6 months old. Some moms have posted here that they successfully did it at 5 months. Some do Ferber instead of extinction CIO if they do it before 6 months (or even if they wait til 6 months).

I've had a couple of people tell me IRL that they did it at 2-4 months and it worked. I personally didn't feel right doing it that early, but not sure of what any studies say in terms of trying it that early.

My DS was up all night when he was younger so I feel you!

thank you. She sleeps through the night, just getting her down is hard. when i put in awake she talks and laughs and plays for a while then cries a bit. my dh doesn't like it si i usually go in and rock her. i guess i will wait a bit longer
