Well, even if they did have a survey from years ago, you would still have to get a new one. I'm going to assume you'd have to pay..unless they wanted to pay for half.

typically when you purchase a home you have a survey done. You pay for it typically (buyer) and its around $500 unless the bank allows you to shop around.

our bank wouldn't accept the survey on file, it had to be current as in 6 months or less. it worked out for us because the owners needed to get a new one for a co so we split the cost, but had we needed it to buy the house, we would have had to pay for it. its your bank that will want it, IMO that's not a cost the seller should foot. if you were an all cash buyer you wouldn't need it

oh I see, so it's the bank that wants this? I'm so confused  we went back to the seller so we'll see what happens
I seriously cringe everytime I see my lawyer or mortgage person calling bc they never have good news
