Team Green Girls

I am not sure if I did this already, if I did - I am sorry!

But, for those who are Team Green, with their first. Stay STRONG!

Every time a new nurse or doctor came into the room, they would look at their charts and say "oh what are you having?" barely looking up. When we would respond that we didn't know - they would suddenly look up and say "OMG! How exciting!" After a while, when people walked in the room (yes THAT many people walk in and out all day long) the nurses would tell them "This is the couple who doesn't know what they are having!"

They were taking guesses, asking names - it was SUCH a fun experience. And then, when she was born . . . .

EVERYONE in the room screamed out ITS A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!! It was so exciting, they were just as excited as we were!!

When we were in the hallway for the next two days, people who weren't there for the birth remembered us and asked what we ended up having.

It really added to the experience, we are so glad that we waited to be surprised. There are so few surprises in life, so definitely hold out for this one!

Happy and Healthy pregnancies and births for you all! Chat Icon

Re: Team Green Girls

thank you tilde!! that really helped b/c my will power is dwindling but we really want to remain team Chat Icon

what makes it even harder is it's the first question people ask when they find out you're pregnant...even before asking how far along you are....which is like kinda disappointing....so it gives me great satisfaction to completely deflate them and watch them get mad when i tell them we aren't finding out!!!!

Re: Team Green Girls

I 100000% agree with you, Tilde!!

I was team green for both of my DD's and it was great to hear "it's a girl!!" I don't care what anyone says, the announcement at the 20 week sonogram is NOT the same as at delivery.

and ps - the doctors and nurses both said it's more exciting when you don't know what you are having.

I totally agree. I was team green with DD and I am again this time around. It's so funny how excited everyone is. I really think when you are team green you are in the minority. There is a huge note on the outside of my folder in the Dr.'s office highlighted in yellow - "Patient Does Not Want to Know Sex of Baby"

Also not knowing is great incentive for the delivery room to keep going. Chat Icon

I agree! So exciting to hear it's a boy or it's a girl once they are born! I'm so not a planner, though, so maybe I'd feel differently if I had to have everything boyish or girlish beforehand.

As a BTDT (three times now!) I can say YESSSSS!

(And I also agree with what SaraH said too.)

Even now, with my third Chat Icon , people are still very excited--especially since I already have Chat Icon Chat Icon . I love hearing everyone's predictions--especially because I am a repeat c-section victim Chat Icon, and nothing else is really left up to chance. We've even recorded the predictions of family and friends for each pregnancy and the girls think it's really funny to look back upon.

GREAT experience and I absolutely would never do it any other way!

100% agree with this!

Everyone was so excited for us that we were being surprised. When they called out "It's a Boy" it was really the most exciting, wonderful thing I had ever heard!

Re: Team Green Girls

I agree - it was the best thing ever!

I had a c-section and they let DH stand up to watch her come out and let him announce it.

I can't remember much when I think back on my delivery, but that moment is so clear and I will never forget it!
