Have you ever sent something back to Coach to be repaired - Update

and they sent it back, saying they couldn't repair it? DH bought me a diaper bag for Mother's Day and I broke the zipper. I brought it to the store and they sent it to be repaired.

I just got it back in the mail with a note saying they couldn't fix it.

Do you think I can exchange it at Coach?

Thanks!

I just sent a wristlet back for repair and they did fix it. But I would try going to the store, and telling them you already sent it for repair and they could not do it, perhaps they would accept it as a return? wouldnt hurt to try.

This happened to me!!!! I had the bag below but in chocoalate brown. After only a couple of months, the leather piping in both corners completely wore away, revealing the plastic piping underneath. I sent it back, and got a letter saying they couldn't repair it, along with a coupon for 40% off another bag.

Here's the kicker.....the letter was NOT addressed to me. It was addressed to someone in Staten Island who had the same first name as me. Apparently, we both had the same bag, with THE SAME PROBLEM.

I called Coach thinking there was some mistatke, maybe they really could fix my bag, but the woman on the woman said "o she had the same bag with the same problem. it can't be fixed."" so I was like "well obviously it's a manufactoring problem". The woman actually said "what do you want us to do? make a new bag?" I felt like quoting the mantra on the inside of the bag, that this bag was made of the finest materials etc.!!!!!! When I went to use the coupon for 40% off (after many months of boycotting Chat Icon ) they gave me a VERY hard time at the store, since the coupon and letter were not in my name. They actually had to call coach and verify that there was a mix up and I had to sign stuff and show ID!

So, basically after all that, in answer to your question, they might give you a hard time about it at the store.

I had a similar problem with a bag, the piping came through the leather, so I had them send it in. This occurred after 1 month of wearing the bag. They could not fix it. The style I had was no longer sold in the color I purchased, so they gave me all of my money back. This was about 7 years ago. HTH

Wow, I don't know if their policy has changed or what but I sent something back to be repaired and they couldn't fix it, I got a letter stating I could get the old one back or get a store credit for the original price of the bag. I got the store credit and a nice new bag free of charge

that was my experience as well.

i've also had keychains that stone have fallen out of and an umbrella that broke - brought them both into the factory store and was given brand new items on the spot.

Re: Have you ever sent something back to Coach to be repaired

I went to the store and they called the repair department. The repair department told them that since it looked like the consumer had broken it, they wouldn't fix it.

The manager at Coach told me I could exchange it but I had to buy something right then and there, no future store credit. Or I could keep the bag, get the zipper fixed myself, and get 40% off my next purchase at Coach. So I took that option.

Re: Have you ever sent something back to Coach to be repaired - Update

I'm really surprised they didnt give you thr $40% off al least! I'd fight it.

I once sent a bag back b/c the strap was all "chewed" up and there was a pull in the signature fabric. It was like a 7 yr old bag was hoping they would have some extra straps lying around at the least.

Well, they sent my bag back saying it couldn't be repaired, but gave me a 40% off coupon. Sweet!

Then a few months ago, I bought back a 1 yr olf bag b/c the horse and carriage piece cracked and my little guy lost his whip leaving a grommet hole. This time they credited me the original purchase price of the bag. So now I have a brand new fall bag waiting for me to use. Chat Icon

Definitley fight it. I have never heard of them not giving at least the 40% off. For a defect like a zipper, they should give you a credit. Chat Icon
