WHY???? won't my child poop on the potty??

DS is TOTALLY pee pee trained for almost a month now but will NOT poop on the potty.

He says he doesn't want to but will not give me a reason. Its driving me insane!

my dd was pee trained the week she turned two... it really took her four more months before I could call her really trained at both.... stick with it!

oh i feel your pain but don't give up hope! my DD potty trained for pee pee within a day. but forget pooping on the potty. she was actually just going in her underwear..wouldn't sit on the potty for it. it was like she truly didn't get it. it took about 2.5 weeks and my DH bribed her with this Dora thing and out of the blue she did it. she had a few days after that of accidents or refusals. then i got a bag of play food for her kitchen and stickers and she began to look forward to getting to choose some after going. then that was it.
so try your best to be patient-i wanted to literally my head against the wall. it will happen!

i have the opposite problem!! ds will poop on the potty (if i am lucky) but refuses to pee!! he doesn't mind his wet diaper at all! he actually started crying today when i told him diapers were not for big boys!!

Same problem here. DS has been pee pee potty trained since May - literally, in underwear 24/7 - through the night he is dry, every where we go and never has accidents. But, yet, he has never pooped on the potty. He has told me it will hurt him and I have no idea why. I have literally tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. He asks for a pull up when he has to go and is in underwear the rest of the day and night. If I don't give him the pull up he will just hold it in. I would appreciate any suggestions b/c to date I have tried all my ideas, my friends and the peds and NOTHING has worked.

THe strange thing is the kid potty trained himself. One day he said he wanted to go pee pee in the potty and then that was it - he went cold turkey and I never had to work at it at all. I'm hoping whenever he is ready it will be the same with the other thing.

been there! I found it just takes time and a lot of bribing with lollipops.

We also talked about it, he said he was scared. So we talked about how everyone does it, like mom and dad....and we are OK. There is nothing to be scared of.

It also took forever, so we would sit the potty in front of the TV and it made him less anxious bc he was distracted by the tV.
