when you started potty training

boys especially, did you use pull ups / easy ups ? how did you begin?

Ds is in diapers and I trying to train him now but he doesn't tell me when he has to go. He did poop in the potty yesterday but that was it!

Please help if you have any suggestions

Well, I have a girl, but I'll share what we did....
We waited until she was telling us that she had to go, and then we put her in underwear during the day and diapers at night. She had a few accidents, but not many. After about a week, we put her in underwear at night, and only one accident....but she was sick, so I'm not counting it.

She's still having some poop issues, but we're not pushing it and letting her do it at her own pace....and cleaning a lot of underwear.

Just went through this with my son. He wore underwear all day except if we went to the store and then it was a pull up.
When ever he wore the pull up he had an accident. IMO they are just larger size diapers for bigger kids. He also started by sitting and now he likes to "go like daddy". Sitting was easier b/c my son isnt that tall and when he stands he is on his toes and is touching evey part of the bowl with every part of his body. It grosses me out but it has gotten better.

Also whenever we were some place I would ask him a hundred times if he had to go and it was always no. So I would say oh do you know aunt ... has a beautiful bathroom lets go see how pretty it is. Or they have a pretty cool bathroom in this store lets go take a look at it. Mr nosey would wanna look and go while he was checking the place out.
