Isn't there a ferry that leaves from eastern long island and will help decrease the driving to Boston?

You can take the ferry to New London, CT out of Orient. It won't really save you a lot of travel time, but the break from driving is nice.

Take the ferry from Orient Pt to New London, CT. We do to go to Newport - saves about 30 minutes and aggravation from driving around the Island/City to get to I-95.

there is a ferry from port jefferson to bridgeport, CT. it really doesn't cut out too much time, saves gas and it's a relaxing trip.

Port Jefferson or Orient Point takes you -- but it honestly will not save you much time at all -- it's just a nice ride.
However, it's expensive...1 car and 1 driver is more than $60 bucks.
When we go to Massachusetts, we take the ferry, but it definitely doesn't cut on the driving time.
