I use the Trader Joe's dog food. Achilles LOVES it and the ingredients are good, but then again I highly doubt he would refuse anything

We feed our dog Wellness Small Breed Dry, and add a couple of spoonfuls of Wellness Chicken and Sweet Potato wet.

Just curious if you mix this with anything and how much you give them a day?
I was told that I should mix b/c this brand is high in protein which may cause my lab to gain weight. I would prefer not to mix so I'm interested in your thoughts.

Wellness here as well. The healthy weight variety because she was overweight when she was rescued, and the vet said we may as well keep her on it to avoid swinging her back the other way.
Her diet is supplemented with real food as well (fresh fruits/veggies, plain cooked meats).

Sorry, I didn't check back right away!
We don't mix anything. I've heard the same about needing to change amounts when you start feeding. Brinkley put on weight immediately so we cut him back by 1/4 cup, that's all. The food is actually more highly digestible so they need less to sustain them, and they poop less too.
Ginger is a perfect weight at 75 pounds and she gets 3 cups a day. She is the more energetic of the two.
Brinkley is a perfect 65 pound weight and he only gets a cup and a half. He's shorter and is generally more mellow.
We also give them a banana at 9pm each night and no more than a handful of Evo Weight Management treats a day. The treats don't have yeast in them, and Ginger is prone to ear infections, so that's why we stick to those.
I know some people who mix but not because of the protein, because of the price tag! They feed 50/50 to give their dogs more without spending that much. We go through one large bag about every 2 1/2 weeks. Hope this helps! Feel free to FM me or reply if you want more info.

*price really isn't a factor for us. Dallas is 7 lbs & only eats 1/2 cup a day! I had hoped Evo would put weight on him but it never did. The smallest bag lasts about 2 months.
