OK...so here it is. MY SUPER AWESOME SUMMER GTG idea....with an AWESOME RETHINK!!!! The ROVING MULTIPLE POOL PARTY
ok peeps, this seems pretty popular, so...let's get a few different dates and locations going.
sunflowerjess said she would host. and some great parks have been mentioned. we also have a smaller venue offered tentatively, so I'll hold off on that announcement.
so sunflowerjess, you hold court first. when can you hold this shindig?

I know last summer we did some GTGs at Venetian Shores in Lindenhurst and at the Centereach Pool.

I can do it if it's in August. I'm extremely optimistic about how mobile I will be able to be with a newborn and a crazy toddler. 
The first week in July will hopefully have me bringing a newborn home from the hospital so that's not an option for us.

Only if you get there as soon as it opens, or late in the day. From 1-4pm there is no way to move in those pools. And that is on weekdays, can't even imagine weekends.

are there not public pools?
I remember as a child I went camping in Hetcher State Park (or something like that) and there were pools (yes, we looked at LI as camping  )
are they gross now? clean? that is more what I was thinking of.

I am not really sure because we have always had a pool in the backyard, but I thought town pools are only allowed to be used by town residents.
I can look a little more into it, but Town of Babylon has a public pool. I think you can pay for a "day" pass...it's per person.
eta - when we did swimming lessons last year at TOB the pool was MOBBED. Not sure if we really want to do something that is going to be that crowded.

Also, as I mentioned in my FM - I'd be happy to host here. I have a semi inground pool with a surrounding fence.
In the front yard I have a bounce house we can set up as well as other outdoor toys.
We can either do a "bring your own lunch" or just order pizza. If you want to do it here we can figure out all of the other details later. Friday, Saturday, and Sundays are not good for me.

Ahhhh, I would so love this but cannot do a weekday have to finish my hospital practicum and have no real flexibility. Although, i'm so tempted that depending on the day, i may just have to come down with a 24 something (and not get a tan bc that would ruin it )

sorry our house in under construction we are supposed to be in july 4th so i will defiently be in by august
