Question about where to spend fathers day

We were invited to my brother and sister in laws for a bbq on fathers day. Yes, my Dad will be there, but so will my Sister in Laws parents, sister and BF and a few of her Aunts. Do you think its rude that i declined ther offer? Its just that we aren't that close to start with and i don't think its fair for my hubby to have to spend fathers day with my sister in laws family....Not to mention that my husband LOVES the beach and would like to spend the day on the beach. So we figured we will do breafast with my dad in the morning and if the weather is good go to beach in afternoon. I just feel like i got an attitude for declining on the bbq. So i wanted some opinions.

its up to you guys. If it were me, I'd go to my family's party. The more the merrier and both DH & I love parties.

I personally am not a fan of mothers day/fathers day attitudes that its "my day" and I want to spend it alone. Sorry, JMO though.

For Father's Day I let DH decide what he wants to do.

He has decided he wants to spend the day sitting on the couch watching Golf than sitting in crappy LI traffic going to my father's house out east. (and before I get flamed, we live in NJ and I am NOT sitting in 3-4 hours worth of traffic with a cranky toddler in the backseat).

The day you planned sounds good...it should be up to your DH

I am dying to see my dad on Fathers day but DH wants to spend it in LI so I will have to go with the flow with him
