I'm a bad person to go by b/c I wear dark all year. I love black on my toes.....I'm still pizzzed that my nail place doesn't have the black OPI gel. Every time I go they have less and less. 
Ok, tangent but wear black, I think its fine :)

I think darker colors look better on my toes than lighter colors, but I don't think I'd so black personally, just darker reds and purples and pinks.

I just put on Turqouis n Caicos (since that is where DH and I went on our honeymoon...just had to try it!)
But, not sure I'm liking it. I HAD on Chinchilly from Essie and loved it! (even thinking of going back to it!) It's not dark, but very neutral. It's kind of grayish/greenish. I believe it is a fall color, but to me it still works for summer!
It loos much better in person than in this pic!

i tend to wear whatever i like, regardless of the season. if i feel like a darker color during spring/summer, i tend to go with a dark purple... i got opi's sexy devine last time. this time, the lady next to me was getting turqouise & caicos and i liked it, but wanted something a little more bold. so i told my girl "i want something different" and she gave me opi's "catch me in your net" - it's a dark sparkly turqoise. i love it

I don't do the black... but I do deeeeeeep dark colors in shades of reds and purples.
i actually have on a deep purple color now. love it!

I just go for whatever color I am in the mood for. Usually I will either alternate between light for one pedicure and dark the next time or I do find that I am in the mood for lighter colors in the summer. I don't wear black but I do often pick colors like Wicked. I'm lavender right now and it reminds me of Easter so I keep thinking I am out of season even with a light color.
