SPR -What should DH wear to DC's baptism party?

SPR -What should DH wear to DC's baptism party?
We already baptized DC in a small private ceremony back in February. We are having a "baptism celebration" this Saturday at a restaurant with about 60 people.
DC are wearing white button down shirts and tan linen pants. I am wearing a white eyelet knee length dress that has a black belt and black piping around the neckline, with a black short cardigan. I can't find pictures of the dress online unfortunately but it is fitted at the top and has a fuller skirt.
DH does not want to (and does not have to  ) wear a suit. Should he wear a white button down shirt and slacks? Tie? What colors? Can he wear some other color shirt? Thanks.

I would do a button down with slacks, no tie.
(I'm not a fan of the tie without jacket, unless the jacket is around and can be put on for pictures).
DH wears a suit for DCs Christenings, but I don't think it is a requirement.
If he does a white shirt, I would just stay away from black pants (without a tie, that can make him look like a server). Otherwise, I would do a shirt in a summer color and black or tan pants.
ETA: I'm assuming a sportscoat is out too.

He has a sportcoat he can wear, I forgot to mention that. It is navy - if he wears a tie he will wear the jacket - I wouldn't let him do a tie with no jacket LOL But can he do the jacket with no tie? 
ETA he did wear a suit for the actual ceremony. But given that this is more casual and they are not being baptised that day I told him he didn't have to wear one.

I think a sportcoat and no jacket is fine-sound like a dressy but not formal event and I think a jacket with shirt and pants, no tie is a great option.
Blue jacket, tan pant white shirt is a pretty classic look I think.
