Crossing the Canadian border w/rental car
For anyone who has done this (eg flown to Buffalo and driven over) recently, can you tell me how long it takes to get to the Cananda side and how long to get back into the US? Thanks!

I did this a few years ago, it was fine, you have to let the rental car know that you are driving over, but we just went over the border, even though my husband and I travel on different passports, there was no problems at all.

We did it too a few years back. No issues. Just tell them.
Landed in Buffalo. Rented a car. Niagara Falls (Canadian side) is about a 30 minutes ride.
That's not far at all!
