I am home.. I Failed induction!!!
My dr sent me to the hospital for induction last night at 6pm. After 12 hours of cervadil and 4 hours of some other drug to soften my cervix, neither worked! At the point, DH and I decided we will just have to wait things out at home. It could have been days in the hospital and we just couldn't  Hopefully since things were poked and prodded, she will bust out on her own. All the test show she is perfect in there. She just doesn't want out yet. And the gift I got my mom from her for Mother's Day was just delivered. Who knows if she will be here by then???? Really who "fails" induction ???

awww I think you made a good choice. my friend went in and they induced, and was there for 3 days before the baby finally came...then when it came time she was so EXHAUSTED from being in the hospital she had a harder time.
Get some rest at home. I hope the baby decides to come soon!

I have never heard that this could happen! I just figured that once the process starts they will keep going until the baby gets here.

she'll come when she is ready. the cervadil induces some people but it really is just to ready the cervix. i'm sure you wouldn't have failed if they induced you (with pitocin). could have been worse...i had a horrible reaction to cervadil and was in tentanic contractions with DD's heartrate dropping within 45 minutes. get some rest for when she is ready to be here!

Wow I never heard of a hospital sending someone home for a failed induction. My induction failed. I had cervidil, pitocion, they broke my water and I was in labor for 30+ hours. I finally wound up with a c/s.
I hope she comes out soon for you!

I failed induction. Was in labor for 31 hours to then have a c-section. Stay home and relax. When baby is ready, it will let you know

I failed induction..... had cervidil and pitocin for 2 days straight and never dialated at all! I had high bp so my dr. suggested c-section. At that point I was exhausted and just wanted the baby out!!! So i had a c.

you and dh definitely made the right decision to come home. i know someone who was induced and she spent 2 days in the hospital, a pretty painful labor and ended in a c-section since when it came time to push she was exhausted. she'll be here VERY soon.

As someone who had a failed induction that led to a c-section, I'd much rather have your type of failed induction. Are you dilated or effaced at all? Hopefully, the medication helped to move things along. Good luck!
