We ripped up all the carpet and then did all the other cleaning ourselves. (or I should say I did the cleaning!!)

No. I cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the fridge and vaccumed all of the floors. Then once everything was in and unpacked I did a deep clean. The house will get very messy as you are moving stuff in so to me it wasn't worth spending the money on a cleaning service.
