Anyone have any remedies for a scorched pot?
We have a porcelain coated cast iron pot that my DH let something steam in for too long so now it is all black. Does anyone have any good tricks? I've googled and just not finding much

Soaking it in hot-hot water and baking soda !
The baking soda lifts anything that is burned on and softens grease, and you can safely repeat as necessary. You can scrub with a sponge and baking soda too without scratching the porcelain finish.

I know I've used a little water and dish soap and "cooked" the mixture over a low flame. It works when I've burned food onto it, usually something with milk. You keep and eye on it and let it gently boil and start trying to scrape it. It really softens the burnt on stuff. Not sure if it will remove the scorching but it's worth a try for $100 pot.

i wouldn't use bar keepers friend on the type of pot she has. it would totally scour the porcelain and ruin it.

I use Cerama Bryte on my cooktop and I don't always need to use the scraper, a paper towel does the trick. I'm not sure if this product is safe for porcelain though.

Otherwise maybe just some Soft Scrub?
