Sofa and window question...
If your sofa or loveseat is against a window on the wall - does the back of the couch go above the window sill?
Can I see pictures too please?
I found a couch I like but it's a camelback sofa and would come up about 4 inches above the sill in the middle. I'm concerned about how it would look.
I do display things there - it's a bow window.
From floor to window sill - it's about 34", the couch is 39" high in the middle. Will it look dumb?

I don't think it will look dumb, but you might not be able to see things on the sill anymore. Some people like the look of a sofa in front of a window, others don't. I didn't love when we had our sofa in front of our bow window because it was a pain to get to the shades every day. Sorry that probably wasn't much help.

Re: Sofa and window question...
I wouldn't be as worried about the look but more about the fading that might happen.
this sofa is clearly higher then the sil
so is this one and it has the camel back

Thanks so much for the pics!
Good point about the fading... Hmmmm - if I hang sheers it would probably minimize the fading though, right? I think if we end up going with this couch that's what I'm going to do.
Thank you!!!!

it really depends on the fabric and the color. if you do a tan or pale yellow you wouldn't see it. if you do a red crushed velvet, your sofa will be faded in no time and turn the fabric to dust

I didn't even think of the fading. I was more concerned with look.
DH likes the look of the camelback whereas I'd be just as happy having a diff sofa.
This is going to be a toughie.

I think it will look great in front of the window. Like the pic that HeatherRose posted. It looks very nice. Furniture shopping is never easy. GL!
