fios verses cable io?
hubby is tempted to switch from cable......
the cable package is at $180.
the 2 year fios special would be $170 and include a boosted internet, and a dvr box
so how since its not a big price change- how is the picture? the internet speed?

i dont personally have it ...but us to have been thinking about switching. I know a bunch of people who have fios and they have no complaints...i dont notice any difference with their picture. The only thing i DONT like is that im stuck with a 2 yr contract. so while its good for them and their area what if its crappy in mine?? im stuck with it for 2 years tahts a deal breaker for me

Re: fios verses cable io?
For me, Fios is better then Cable...reasons belw
picture quality better internet speed better (avg user won't see a difference) channels switch quickly rather then delay guide comes up in a split second FIOS has more to offer imo

We have FiOS in the house we just moved into 2 days ago, and I love it already. In fact, I've been sitting here playing with the AMAZING free on-demand for the past hour instead of unpacking. It has everything - I practically don't need my DVR anymore!

Re: fios verses cable io?
We are having terrible issues with FIOS right now - we have had it since December and they haven't gotten us 1 correct bill - in fact we can't access our bill online b.c they still haven't given us an access code and the past two bills weren't itemized and well over $100 more than they should have been due to their errors. It is impossible to get them on the phone to correct it - we never had billing issues with Cable.
Now having said that. Our internet appears to be about the same but I find that if you watch something on say youtube the picture quality is better. The phones seem to be the same. The TV however I think is MUCH better. We had a LOT more channels that either Cable didn't offer or charged for.

Re: fios verses cable io?
You can try it I think for two weeks, and then cancel if you don't like it without any penalty so no harm done if you don't like it. We switched from Dish and actually didn't cancel our Dish service until the two weeks passed and we were certain we were keeping FIOS.
