Rug Burn/Knees??

is there any way to prevent this? em's crawling about 80% of the time - but the other 20% she's still army crawling and getting TERRIBLE redness on her knees....(and yes, i know since she's so pale, the redness looks much worse).

i moisturize her knees every day - MULTIPLE times a day now - but i feel so badly. it doesn't seem to phase her - but the skin itself is always warm and has dry patches (which is why i'm moisturizing her with every diaper change).

i always have her in pants when she's going to be 'moving' on the floor - and instead of the carpet in our house (which is very hard as it's an apartment), we use the foam blocks..

Should i maybe put a blanket down on the foam and make it softer??? any ideas??

Re: Rug Burn/Knees??

my sister got Joey something similar to THESE for when he starts to crawl. I'm not positive where she got them or how good they'll be but they're worth a shot. (I just randomly found this etsy seller)

Re: Rug Burn/Knees??

I used Baby Legs.

They saved her!

I still moisterized her but I put the baby legs over that and let her loose (ive seen boys with them too). Given that Texas was so darned hot I needed to be able to put her in something cool like short sleeve onesie and still let her crawl around. These were lifesavers!

ETA: yeah we also have a soft blanket on the carpet for the area she spent most of her time. Unfortunately AJ never army crawled. She just crawled period so keeping her in one place was impossible. Then agan, she now walks, runs and we STILL have that area on the floor for her because we end up on the floor with her so much its softer on our old bones!
