Need Car Help!

I will start by saying that I really hate car shopping! Chat Icon I love cars and bells & whistles but I just hate all the dealing back and forth...

Anyhow.

We live in central CT, in case that matters.

DH and I found a certified preowned 2008 Town & Country Touring (with DVD, backup camera, heated leather, power sliding doors/tailgate, etc.) It has just hit 40,000 miles on it (a bit high, I know).

They were asking $21,900k for it and we got them down to $21k but I still kind of feel like we can get a better price for it. I also checked their website and they have it advertised as 'Internet Special' at $20,991!!!Chat IconChat IconChat Icon

They have had the car on the lot for 150 days which I think is good for us negotiating-wise. I checked on Edmunds and they said with the miles/features/location the price should be $20,030.

My question is: Do you think $20k would be a decent price? If not, what kind of things can I say to get the price lower? I always feel like such a sucker after I buy a car! Please help me!

Re: Need Car Help!

I feel that for a 2 yr old car 40,000 miles is ALOT
and personally I would not pay $21,000
I would keep looking

I would keep looking. That's a lot of miles in 2 years!

Re: Need Car Help!

I would definitely keep looking. The mileage is very high. Also, my friend bought a brand new one in 2009 for $25k, so a CPO 2008 should be less.

Re: Need Car Help!

I see what you ladies are saying. Assuming that you loved the car but wanted them to lower the price, what would be a fair price?

Look here.

There are plenty of 2009 models with lower mileage and prices. I didn't look at all of the options though. Def shop around and make sure you get the CarFax report to make sure the vehicle wasn't in an accident.
