I was watching and thinking the same thing. I was so sad watching and think NBC should be ashamed of themselves for not only showing the crash over and over again, but also showing the paramedics work on him. I hope he will rest in peace.
The course they said is very dangerous that 12 test runs went bad. Why use the course?

I agree that it's sickening that they keep showing it. My DD saw it before I could change it.
I don't think that covered beams would make a difference at 95 miles an hour. I'm wondering why they made the course so dangerous. It seems like that course will be more about cheating death than skill and speed.

DH and I were watching them report the story, and when they showed the crash we both were so startled. He actually yelled, "is that it?!" as it was happening. I think we both thought it was stock footage at first, and then when we realized that we were actually watching this poor kid die... 3 times... it was awful. How dare they? I'm thinking (hoping) that there will be so much outrage, they won't even air it anymore by the time it hits California in 3 hours.
I can't even imagine how many little kids were watching, excited to see the Olympics start, and then this airs with no disclaimer and no warning. Just sickening.

On our 6pm news they showed a partial clip and it froze and cut out to a Publicity Photo of the poor guy. I am so glad they censored it here!

i said this on the thread about contacting NBC about the footage---but it's also applicable here:
the video should NOT be shown AT ALL.
part of me wonders if this was an American, would they show the video over and over, knowing that family & friends in this country would see it. But since he was from Georgia, perhaps they don't have as much sensitivity, figuring the family there won't see it. Either way its WRONG and totally disrespectful.
SHAME on you NBC!

I just saw on Georgian news that Nodar's father was his trainer and he was there when this happened
They said the video and the news of his death was all over the news before they had a chance to call the rest of the family back in Georgia how horrible
