My sweet, beautiful, snuggly DD is about to turn ONE! I cannot believe that we have been blessed with her in our lives for an entire year already.

When they handed her to me in the hospital, I had no CLUE what to do with her Chat Icon We had a rough road for the first month or so - she lost a lot of weight in the hospital, I was dealing with a lot of conflicting advice from nurses about dehydration and jaundice, she was very slow to gain the weight back, BFing was hard and my supply was terrible. She cried a lot and so did I. There was an incident with a psychotic lactation consultant that nearly sent me over the edge. I was convinced I'd never make it through the first month.

A year later, she's a healthy, beautiful, hilarious little girl who loves to dance, is almost walking, and has just learned to point at everything. She loves animals and is friendly and smiley to everyone. And I'm proud to say that we are still BFing Chat Icon . Sure, I supplemented with formula - she was happy to see food in any format!

To all the new mommies out there - you are doing great. You can do anything you set your mind to, even when you're delirious with lack of sleep and laundry and annoying relatives are piling up. Hold on to every minute because someday very soon you'll be looking back at a whole year and wondering where it went!!
